M9 motorway (twice)

The M876 motorway is a motorway in Scotland. The motorway runs from Denny to Airth in the Falkirk council area, forming an approach road to the Kincardine Bridge. It was opened in 1980. The road is 8 miles (13 km) long. It begins by turning off the M80 and bypasses the towns of Falkirk and Stenhousemuir. It is one of only two motorways in the UK which form a concurrency with another motorway ((the other one being the M62 which concurs with the M60 Manchester Orbital motorway), the M9 which it then leaves again and continues for 1 mile before ending on the A876. The existing Kincardine Bridge is currently being supplemented by a second bridge for traffic towards Alloa due to open in 2008; as part of the works, it is planned to extend the motorway beyond its current terminus to link to the new Upper Forth Crossing.
