Luther A. Wright Jr. (born September 22 1971 in Jersey City, New Jersey) is a American retired professional basketball player who was selected by the Utah Jazz in the 1st round (18th overall) of the 1993 NBA Draft. In his career, Wright played in only one year in the NBA, averaging 1.3 points in 15 games for the Jazz during the 1993-94 season. He played collegiately at Seton Hall University. Wright played high school ball at Elizabeth High School in Elizabeth, New Jersey.[1] After nine months with the Utah Jazz, he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and left the team. In 1996, he was released from a psychiatric hospital after a 30-day admission. Under his contract agreement with the Utah Jazz, he will be paid US$153,000 per year for 25 full years.[2]
