School Program
The Lourdes School of Quezon City provides four levels of education: High school, Grade school, Preparatory school, and Kindergarten. In the past the LSQC was an exclusive school for boys on all levels; however, in the late 70's the high school department became coed. Students who cannot afford the tuition fee (currently at Php 45,000 - 50,000) can avail of the Financial Assistance Program (FAP) of the school that offers study grants to children with good academic grades coming from low-income families. The school has distinguished itself in various curricular competitions throughout the metropolis and the country, having won championship (in 1999) and runner-up (in 1998) honors in the now-defunct Battle of the Brains quiz show of RPN-9, as well as various press conferences and math olympiads. In 1998, the LSQC team, comprised of Kenneth Gallo, Phillip Kimpo, Christopher Ruiz, and Juan Paolo Samontañez, also reached the national semifinals of the Discovery Channel Whiz Quiz.
School Hymn
The present hymn of the Lourdes School of Quezon City, Lourdes Forever, is the revised version of the original song. The original hymn's lyrics were written by Miguel Peñera, while the music was composed by Prof. Antonio Molina.
School Motto
The Lourdes School of Quezon City uses the Franciscan greeting Pax et Bonum, which is Latin for "Peace and All Good". Whenever a teacher or school authority greets someone from the school, The response should end with the phrase.
School Emblem
The Lourdes School Emblem has the following main features:
- Three small crosses on both sides and two arms crisscrossed before a cross set against a background of clouds. It signifies the Trinitarian dimension particular to Franciscan spirituality.
- The bare arm is that of Christ who gave his life for man's salvation. The sleeved arm is that of St. Francis of Assisi, who embraced the Cross of Christ which earned him the title "Mirror of Christ". He lived a life closest to Christ's by living the Gospel literally.
- The big cross signifies the means to "Becoming Like Christ," a lifelong striving based in the heart of every Franciscan.
- The clouds connote heaven, our home and destiny, in the bosom of the Supreme Good.
The logo is visible in the school's connecting bridge, the uniforms and the school's official bus.
