Loring Danforth is an award winning professor of anthropology and author working at Bates College in the United States. Danforth received a B.A. from Amherst College in 1971 and a M.A. and Ph.D. from Princeton University in 1974 and 1978. He has written many award winning books and articles on Macedonia, Greece, Australia and nationalism. Danforth won a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship for College Teachers and Independent Scholars, and was a recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship. His books have been featured on the CHOICE lists. Danforth has taught at Bates College since 1978. He is known as the preeminent expert on the "Macedonia naming dispute."
