Lone Nutter is a derisive term used by some who believe that U.S. President John F. Kennedy's assassination was the result of a criminal conspiracy, in reference to others who believe that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. The term results from the latter group's conviction that Oswald both had no accomplices and was somewhat deranged or unstable, hence a "lone nut." In chat rooms and forums, the term is frequently abbreviated as "LNer."
