Locator software is an electronic commerce software module on a website that allows a visitor to find nearby stores and business locations. In its most common form, a visitor inputs a ZIP code and the locator returns all locations in a database within a specified radius. It is often used in conjunction with mapping/driving direction software on brick and click corporate websites to help customers locate a physical business location. It is also used by industry-specific directory sites to list businesses that have paid to be included in the database as part of an internet marketing campaign.
