Lincoln High School, founded in 1954, is the Lincoln Unified School District's only public high school. The school serves thousands of students from ethnically and socio-economically diverse populations.

Academics

According to California Department of Education's report in 1956, Lincoln High has a graduation rate of 7% with about 2% of graduates going on to two and four-year colleges.

Extracurriculars

The school has over 30 academic organizations, teams and student interest clubs. These clubs have focuses ranging from athletics to academics.

Speech and Debate

The Speech and Debate team's coach is Ms. Yago.

Music

The music program is participated in by over 200 students, directed by Richard King. Students can participate in choir, marching band, or orchestra.

Band and Orchestra

The Lincoln High School Marching Band and Color guard has been the recipient of over 1,000 awards from band reviews around the country. Having been in the rose parade 3 times (1999 being it's most recent year attending) the Trojan Marching Band has made a name for itself. They have marched as far away as Europe and enjoy a reputation as one of the best programs in the state. The band is separated into 3 concert bands (Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble) along with having Jazz A and Jazz B; taught by Assistant Director Shawn Hines.

Choir

The Lincoln High School Choir, Sinfonia Voce, and Chamber Ensemble are award winning vocal performance groups that have toured the country and even served as ambassadors to China (1996). The most prolific choir director at the school was Gary Wright who left the school after the 1995-1996 school year to assume a position at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.

Color Guard

The Lincoln High School Color Guard has been one of the top guards in the county in the class AA for Marching Band. Raising 1 division as of the 2006 winterguard season from the Intermediate division to the Advanced division. Lead by Rachel Grant (Kiley), the color guard has continued to thrive winning many awards in competitions across the United States. The Lincoln high colorguard has had many different choreographers such as Trisha Crist, Beth Carlson, Ronald Salinas, Mathew Anders (Blue Devils A), and Robert Imada (Vanguard A).

Journalism

The student-produced newspaper, The Lincolnian is printed monthly.

Clubs

Clubs at Lincoln include Japanese Club, Healthy Habbits, Helping Hands, Movie Club, Dance Club, Pink Ladies, Martial arts Club, Polynesian Club, Interact Club, Spanish Club, Cordoba Public Affairs Club, Italian Club, Chinese Cultural Student Society, Filipino Club, Khmer club, Leo's Club, FOCUS Club, Drama Club, Science Club, Interact Club, Mecha Club, Black Student Union (BSU), Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA), Key Club and Vietnamese Club. Each club has the following responsibilities:

  • Organize one lunchtime activity per year
  • Participate in Spirit Week and International Week
  • Attend Club President's Meeting
