The Leeds College of Music, located in LeedsQuarry Hill cultural quarter, is the largest music college in the United Kingdom, with over 1000 full-time and 2000 part-time students.[1] The college is best known for its leading role in jazz education and ran the first jazz degree in Europe.[2] It is also the only music conservatoire in the UK to offer both Higher and Further Education courses, ranging from BTEC National Diploma courses to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.[1] Undergraduate degree courses are currently available BA (Hons) in Jazz, Music, Popular Music Studies and Music Production. Two Foundation degrees are also available, in Music Production for Film and Television and Commercial Music Production and Recording. Students on the music programmes (Jazz, Music and Popular Music Studies) can choose to specialise in either performance or composition. The College also offers a range of Postgraduate courses, including MAs in Community Music, Jazz, Music and Music Production. Further Education courses available include BTEC National Diplomas in Music, Jazz, Popular Music, Performing Arts (Musical Theatre), and Music Technology.
