Laura Dahl (born 1974) is an American fashion designer. A native of Las Vegas, NV, she attended the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ and continued her studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.
Before starting her own line, Dahl worked in the fashion houses of Cynthia Rowley, Anne Bowen, and Catherine Malandrino. In 2003 Dahl launched her first label called Wifebeader by Laura Dahl which focused on embellished tops. Soon after being featured on Daily Candy (fashion newsletter), Wifebeader was picked up by Bloomingdales and later that season Anthropologie. Dahl’s second line was launched in fall 2006 and falls under her name, Laura Dahl. It is currently being sold in Nordstrom as well as retail boutiques across the country. In late 2006 the Showtime Networks, The L Word, selected Laura Dahl as one of their featured designers for the "L'ements of Style" collection. Her Las Vegas roots run deep as both of her parents were born and raised in Las Vegas, NV and her grandparents who arrived in the early 1930’s, Laura Belle and Maxwell Kelch, started the first radio station in Las Vegas called KENO and founded the Boy Scouts of America of Southern Nevada. Her brother, Matthew Gray Gubler, is an actor/director and is currently a regular on the CBS crime drama, Criminal Minds.
