Lala Ram Prakash Gupta was an eminent freedom fighter and social worker of India. A lifelong member of the Indian National Congress, he was a dedicated follower of Mahatma Gandhi (popularly known as Gandhiji) and walked with him on the famous Dandi March. He also walked with Vinobha Bhawe through Bihar during the Bhoodan movement. After India got freedom in 1947 he retired from political life and spent the next forty years in voluntary social service. He died peacefully in 2002 in Chandigarh, India.
