Basin countries Australia

Lake Dora is a lake and former short lived mining field situated in the West Coast Range of Western Tasmania. East of the Mount Tyndall area, it was the site of a short lived mining rush in the late 1890's. It is not generally accessible by road, and only tracks. It is in a protected area. Charles Whitham says of the mining rush: Lake Dora, Royal Dora, Lady Dora, North Dora, and, of course Dora Reward. The Government put in a good track from Mount Read, with a telephone line. however the rush and community was very short lived.
