Lake Lehman Junior Senior High School in Lehman Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania was created by the merger of a Middle Level Educational Building, which provided an education from grades seven to eight, and a High School, which did the same for grades nine to twelve. The two schools were combined in 2003. The school is located in a rural setting. Most classes consist of 30 or fewer students, with the notable exception of humanities I (honors english and history combined, grade 9), with a class size in the 50s. Basic classes are offered for everyone, but the school also offers advanced courses, and Advanced Placement classes for college preparation.

Teachers

While the quality of education is fantastic, there have been ongoing labor disputes between the teachers' union and their negotiator John Holland(who makes $135,915 a year[1] , 2.5 times the average teacher) and the School Board. Teachers have had a 4 day work stoppage at the end of may of 2007 and another stoppage from October 15 to November 9th. Several Unfair Labor Practice charges have been filed by both sides, the most recent being for not rehiring wrestling coach and Union Vice President, Phil Lipski (who makes 67k[2] a year, plus 6k for wrestling) for the job of varsity wrestling head coach.

The school has many students in the National Honor Society and the National Junior Honor Society. Clubs include a community-service-based group, called Key Club, and a Seinfeld Club. • Joseph Michael Rosser - Little known yet influential inventor/philosopher. Credited with redefining thought. Born in the late 1980's in a small mining town outside of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Joseph was influenced at an early age by well-known scientist Carl Sagan. He began tinkering at the age of 7 when he developed a mechanical replica of a dog that had a full range of dog-like movement, yet could speak as if human. Joseph had his first commercial breakthrough when he developed the first voice activated refrigerator, which he named "Seth". "Seth" was bought out by General Electric yet dubbed defective and hazardous due to its tendency to verbally harass its users. This led to a harsh period of depression in Joseph's life. He began reading philosophic works by the likes of Jean-Paul Sartre, Albert Camus, Soren Kierkegaard and Franz Kafka. He then denounced his previous inventing endeavors and began to live a life of thought. After years of contemplation and evaluation Joseph had written his own philosophical work entitled "A Treatise on Thought: The Mind, Its Motives and Its Pitfalls". The work has generally received positive feedback from the philosophical community. Joseph has been under consideration for a MacArthur Fellowship (also known as the MacArthur Genius Grant) for his work on the revealing philosophical work. Currently Joseph resides in Philadelphia where he continues to write. At this point in time he is working on another work entitled "Mind Over Matter: A Discussion of Psychosomatic Influence on External Stimuli". Aside from his writings, Joseph has become well known in the city of Philadelphia as a philanthropist and a purveyor of all things cultural.
