La Piovra ("The Mafia" [1] ) is an acclaimed Italian TV drama about the Mafia. The story was by Sandro Petraglia. The production was designed by Luigi Perelli. The soundtrack was by Riz Ortolani and later by Ennio Morricone, who went on to compose music for several sequels. The first 4 seasons have been released on DVD in Australia in the original Italian with English subtitles.
