Kurt Dahle is a Canadian musician best known for his work as a drummer for The New Pornographers. Born in Saskatchewan, Dahle first made himself known in Canadian music circles as a member of the band Age of Electric, with his brother Ryan Dahle and another set of brothers, Todd Kerns and John Kerns. Age of Electric spawned several hits in Canada, and earned a Juno Award nomination for "Best New Artist" in 1998 (nine years after Age of Electric was first formed). Kurt and brother Ryan Dahle began working on a side project, Limblifter, and released a self-titled album in 1996, which contained a trio of top-40 Canadian radio hits. After the dissolution of Age of Electric in 1999, the band released a second album, Bellaclava in 2000. Kurt soon left the band to contribute to The New Pornographers who gained much critical acclaim for their albums Mass Romantic (2000), Electric Version (2003), Twin Cinema (2005) and Challengers (2007) under the Matador Records and Mint Records labels. Kurt also worked on albums by The Awkward Stage and The Choir Practice, both released with Mint Records.
