The Kurenivsko-Chervonoarmiyska Line (Ukrainian: Куренівсько-Червоноармійська лінія, Kurenivs’ko-Chervonoarmiys’ka liniia; Russian: Куреневско-Красноармейская линия, Kurenevsko-Krasnoarmeiskaya linia), is a line of the Kiev Metro, first opened in 1976, it extended northwards along the right bank of the Dnieper river and began deviating from the river towards the southwest. As the current stations were built in the 1970s and 80s, architecturally the line shows some of the best examples of late-Soviet architectural features.

Recent developments and future plans

The original extension to the southwestern raion of Holosiiv began back in mid 1980s, however, due to the difficult conditions under the Lybid River and financial shortages, all work was frozen in the early 1990s and the completed sections were flooded. Yet in 2002, the Kiev Metro administration commenced on restarting work on the four station extension that is due to open in 2008: Demiyivska, Holosiivska, Vasylkivska and Vystakovyi Tsentr. With two more stations following later: Teremky and Ipodrom.
