Kongō Masahiro (born 18 November 1948 as Masahiro Kitamura) is a former sumo wrestler from Hokkaidō, Japan. His highest rank was sekiwake. He won the top division tournament championship in July 1975 from the maegashira 1 ranking, with a 13-2 record. He also won three Outstanding Performance prizes. He retired at the age of twenty seven in 1976 to take over as head coach of Nishonoseki stable[1], a position he holds to this day.
