Klaipėda University (Lithuanian: Klaipėdos Universitetas, (KU)) is a university in the Lithuanian seaport Klaipėda. It was founded in January 1991. Having started with three faculties of Humanities and Natural Sciences, Marine Engineering and Pedagogy, it has grown to eight faculties and institutes: faculties of Science and Mathematics, Humanities, Marine Engineering, Art, Pedagogy and Social Sciences; Maritime Institute, Institute of Continuing Studies, Coastal Research and Planning Institute, Institute of Baltic Region History and Archaeology, and Institute of Regional Policy and Planning. The University offers 56 undergraduate, 9 specialized professional and 49 graduate study programs.
