Kingswood is a village in the Maidstone District of Kent, England and forms part of the civil parish of Broomfield and Kingswood. The village, constructed in the early 1960's, is situated to the south of the more ancient village of Broomfield. The village has a single village shop come post office and no public house. Kingswood and the surrounding areas have a high density of Traveller and Gypsy sites. An annual senior citizen outing is arranged by the parish council and paid for from the village precept, which could help explain why funding to improve negleted areas of the parish such as Pitt Road is not forthcoming Famous residents include Aaron Sidwell, Sir Alan Wren, Cyclist and Canary Breeder and Robert Schroeder. Mr Shroeder, a highly respected local benifactor, has done much to improve the village by way of building affordable houses, chairing the parish council, looking after public footpaths, providing support for the elderly and providing land for travelling families. His sympathetic refurbishing of old farm buildings to provide accommodation for rural industries has been supported by the local borough council
