History
He is the cocky, self-proclaimed "Tae Kwon Do god" and eldest son of Kim Kaphwan. Considered the lazier and more outspoken of the brothers Kim, not to mention a self-convinced ladies man (though his relationships tend to last no longer than two to three weeks), he combines the power of lightning with his father's techniques. He is constantly chewed out by his younger brother Kim Jae Hoon for his lack of initiative. He has reddish hair and wears a black dobok with scarlet outlines.
Gameplay
Unlike Jae Hoon, who has a number of good and damaging combos, Dong's combo capability is rather limited which makes the player rely on pokes and mind games. Still Dong can combo into his supers from certain special moves (and normal) attacks and will be rewarded with a good amount of his opponent's health reduced.

Trivia
- Dong Hwan does love and respect his father, but seriously tries to develop a reputation of his own.
- Dong Hwan is one of the boys in Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture. More exactly, he's shown in the party scene along with Jae Hoon and their mother, Kim Myongsak. In this movie, he is known as Kim Don Fan, this is due to a romanization based on his name spelled in katakana (キム・ドンファン) rather than romanizing directly from hangul. Ironically, he is also very shy in the movie. Despite being a rather shy child (he shyly reels back when Mai speaks to him), he shouts at Kim to not give up and this gives him the necessary boost to defeat a brainwashed Cheng Sinzan.
- His name is close to Kim Dong Wan, a Korean singer.
- Interestingly enough Dong uses some of Kim's moves while Jae uses another set of them.
- If Dong is not used in Jae Hoon's stage, he will appear in it's background as one of the crowd.
- Selecting Dong with the B/LK button will have him wearing a white gi, similar to his father and brother's default gi colour.
Notes
- I^ : His name is written in Korean as 김동환 (RR: Gim Dong-hwan, M-R: Kim Tonghwan). For more information, see Korean name and Kim (surname).
