Karijini National Park is a National Park centred in the Hamersley Ranges of the Pilbara region in northwestern Western Australia (Australia). It is situated approximately 1055 km north of the State's capital city, Perth. It was formerly known as Hamersley National Park. At 6274 km², it is the second largest national park in Western Australia (the largest being Rudall River National Park).

Climate

The park is located in the Pilbara region, and is mostly tropical semi-arid climate. In summer, thunderstorms and cyclones are common.[1]

Features

The park is most notable for its gorges, waterfalls and water holes.[2] The park's wildlife includes red kangaroos, wallaroos, echidnas, geckos, goannas, bats and a large variety of birds and snakes.[3]
