The correct title of this article is Ka band. It features superscript or subscript characters that are substituted or omitted because of technical limitations.

The Ka band (Pronounced: "Kay-A Band") is a portion of the K band of the microwave band of the electromagnetic spectrum. Ka band roughly ranges from 18 to 40 GHz. This terminology refers to the "K-above" band, which is the upper 1/3 or so of the complete K band. The so-called 30/20 GHz band is used in communications satellites, downlink in either the 18.3–18.8 GHz or 19.7–20.2 GHz bands, and high-resolution, close-range targeting radars aboard military airplanes. The uplinks for the 30/20 GHz communications systems are in the neighborhood of 30 GHz. The term “Ka band” is frequently used to refer to the recommended operating frequencies of WR-28 rectangular waveguide, which is 26.5 to 40.0 GHz. This radar band is also used for vehicle speed detection by law enforcement.
