KRXI is a television station in Reno, Nevada, USA that broadcasts on analog channel 11. The station began operations in 1995, taking the Fox affiliation from KAME channel 21, of which it is co-owned with by Cox Enterprises. Its transmitter is located in Reno. The station was featured in the episode "Drive" of The X-Files as part of a police chase that took place during the show. A number of people in the Reno area were surprised to see such a chase being aired live so late at night. Many people failed to notice that both the chase was shown "live" yet was showing a daylight scene despite airing at 9pm PST, but also overlooked the fact that KRXI-TV does not have any sort of local news, despite what was shown. On the latter, KRXI simlucasts newscasts from sister station KTVU in the San Francisco Bay Area. KRXI-TV's digital subchannel has been affiliated with Retro Television Network and will start airing on Jan. 7, 2008. [1]
