KFFX-TV, Fox 11, is a Fox affiliate serving the Tri-Cities (Richland-Pasco-Kennewick) area, and also operates a satellite station in Yakima, Washington, KCYU-LP channel 41. KFFX, which signed on the air January 11 1999, is licensed to Mountain Licenses, L.P. and is owned by Northwest Broadcasting Company; its city of license is Pendleton, Oregon. Fox channel 66 recently went off air. With the arrival of an HDTV signal. KBWU now operates in high definition digital on channel 36. KFFX's 10PM newscast, FOX First at Ten, is produced by KHQ in Spokane with KNDO in Yakima and KNDU in Kennewick providing local stories. Currently, KFFX is the over-the-air TV station for the Seattle Mariners in the Tri-Cities area.
