"Juneau" (formerly titled "Juno") is a song by Welsh post-hardcore band Funeral for a Friend. As one of the most popular and well known of the band's songs, it was a hit single being the second highest charting single to date. The song was released on two albums; on the Between Order and Model EP (The original version was released on the hybrid EP Seven Ways to Scream Your Name in the US), and on FFAF's debut LP Casually Dressed and Deep in Conversation.

Juno

The original version of "Juneau" was titled "Juno" on the band's EPs. This version featured more screaming, or as the band prefer to call it; "aggressive vocals". Juno was recorded by the old FFAF line-up consisting of current members Matt Davies, Kris Coombs-Roberts, Darren Smith and ex-members Matt Evans (aggressive vocals), Andi Morris (electric bass) and Johnny Phillips (Drums). However, on the re-issue of the EP, the current line-up is credited to the recording.

Juneau

This version was given an alternative spelling for the title, dismissing "Juno" for the correct spelling for the city "Juneau" in Wisconsin, USA. A total overhaul of the original, "Juneau" includes less of the "unnecessary" aggressive vocals and opting for a more radio-friendly sound. It therefore sticks closer to the FFAF philosophy that; "if it isn't necessary, it doesn't go in!". This version was re-recorded by the current line-up of Funeral for a Friend and was the version that would become one of their most famous tracks to date.

The Single

Released on July 28, 2003 Juneau peaked at #19 in the UK singles chart. Only "Streetcar" has reached higher in the chart, with "Escape Artists Never Die" equaling it in 2004.
