Julius Caesar is a 1970 independent film of William Shakespeare's play of the same name, produced by Commonwealth United Entertainment. The film was directed by Stuart Burge, from a screenplay by Robert Furnival, and was produced by Peter Snell, with James Swann as associate producer, and Anthony B. Unger and Henry T. Weinstein as executive producers. Charlton Heston (as Mark Antony) and Jason Robards (as Brutus) star with a mainly British cast including John Gielgud (as Julius Caesar), Richard Johnson (as Cassius), Robert Vaughn (as Casca), Richard Chamberlain (as Octavius), Diana Rigg (as Portia), Jill Bennett (as Calpurnia), Christopher Lee, Michael Gough and André Morell.
