Jonathan Kellerman (born August 9, 1949) is an American clinical psychologist and prolific writer. His writings on psychology (and specifically psychopathology) include Savage Spawn: Reflections on Violent Children. He has also written articles, short stories, essays, and children's books, as well as his popular and numerous novels of mystery and suspense, many of which take place in a clinical setting. Most of these novels feature Alex Delaware, a child psychologist. Kellerman was born in New York City and grew up in Los Angeles. He received a BA in Psychology at UCLA and a PhD in Psychology at the University of Southern California, where he is currently Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine. His internship and post-doctoral fellowship were at the Children's Hospital/School of Medicine, where he became founding director of the Psychosocial Program, Division of Hematology-Oncology. Kellerman lives in Los Angeles with his wife Faye Kellerman (herself a well-known mystery writer). They have four children. Their oldest, Jesse Kellerman (born 1978), is a published novelist and playwright, as well.
