Classically handsome John Richardson (born January 19, 1934) is an English actor, who appeared in movies from the 1950s until the 1990s. Richardson had a small role in the remake of The 39 Steps in the 1950s and appeared in many Italian films, including Mario Bava's Black Sunday (1960). His most famous role was perhaps in One Million Years B.C. (1966), in which he played a grunting caveman who fell in love with Raquel Welch. He also had a small role in On a Clear Day You Can See Forever (1970) with Barbra Streisand. Richardson's great passion was collecting automobiles and he sometimes appeared in films as long as a car was included in the contract. John was tall, good-looking and seemed destined for stardom when he was cast as the male lead in both She and One Million Years BC. He was even considered for the role of James Bond, but lost out to George Lazenby. For some reason Richardson's career failed to maintain momentum and eventually petered out after some continental and almost soft porn movies. Richardson retired from acting in the 1990s, and is now a noteworthy photographer with no desire whatsoever in looking back on his career in cinema. Now aged 73, he is leading an anonymous existence in a small town somewhere in the United Kingdom.
