Java is a French rap group, formed in 1997 and currently composed of François Xavier Bossard (accordion/keyboard), Erwan Seguillon (singer/songwriter), Jérôme Boivin (double bass) and Alexis (drums).

History
Bossard, who formerly performed under the name of Fixi, and Seguillon met while attending college in Paris, in 1997. Subsequently Bossard learnt the accordion and the duo decided to become the rap group Java. Boivin joined in 1998, together with drummer Marlon, later replaced by Alexis. The group recorded their first album, Hawaï, in February 2000, and it was released in May. They then played in France, Mexico, and Lebanon before recording their second album, Sur Seine, in 2001. The group released their third album, Safari Croisière, on September 29, 2003. As a side project, Seguillon released the album Radio Cortex in 2006, performing under the name R-Wan.[1]
