Japanese hardcore punk, also known as Japcore, refers to the fast-paced Japanese punk/hardcore genre. The original intent of Japanese Hardcore Punk was to protest the social and economic changes sweeping Japan in the 1980's. G.I.S.M. and The Stalin are considered by many to be the founding fathers of Japanese Hardcore Punk, But In 1976 The SS Had Already Started Hardcore. In 1979 They Released a Live 12 Inch. Occasionally, Japcore artists will include elements of heavy metal, thrash metal, anarcho punk, grindcore, horrorpunk, and d-beat in their songs.
