Jamesville-DeWitt High School (often abbreviated as JDHS) is a New York State public education facility located in in the Town of DeWitt, serving high school students (grades 9-12) in the Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District. The principal is Mr. Paul Gasparini.
Location
As noted in the Alma Mater, the School rests upon a hilltop off of Edenger Dr. These hills have many fields, used for athletics, as well as snowshoeing and sledding during the winter.
Notable Graduates
Famous musical alumni include classical guitarist Eliot Fisk (Class of '72), jazz musician/author Walt Weiskopf (Class of '77), and former Phish drummer Jon Fishman(Class of '83). Famous sports alumni include former NBA player Danny Schayes (Class of '77), former NFL and Syracuse University Orange players Scott Schwedes (Class of '83), Robert Drummond (Class of '85), and LPGA golfer Suzy Whaley (Class of '84) who in 2003 became the first woman to qualify for a PGA Tour event. Current Syracuse Orange basketball player Andy Rautins also graduated from Jamesville-DeWitt in 2005. The school mascot is the Red Ram and the school colors are scarlet and white.
