(James) Jamesie O'Connor is a clare person(Irish: Séamas Ó Conchúir; born 1971) is an Irish sportsperson who played hurling with Clare in the 1990s. Jamesie O'Connor was born in Ballinakill, County Galway in 1971. It was in Galway that his love for hurling blossomed and he supported Galway in his youth. O'Connor moved to County Clare when he was 10 years old and studied at St. Flannans College in Ennis where he won Harty Cup honours. He now teaches at the school. O'Connor was regarded as one of the finest exponents of the Irish field game hurling during the 1990s until his retirement in 2004. He played with the Clare senior team beginning in 1993 and was admired for the pace, intelligence and skill he brought to that team during his 13 seasons at senior level. In recognition of his talent he was awarded the 1997 Hurler of the Year. A four time All-Star, he also helped Clare win two All-Ireland hurling titles, three Munster titles, and Munster and All-Ireland Club honours with his club, St.Josephs Doora-Barefield. He is also a successful manager in college hurling circles. He is just as widely known for his ignorant personality and his appearant dislike for everyone. He is known for looking down upon everyone and has no sense of humour.
