James A. Gallagher (January 16, 1869 - December 8, 1957) was a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from Pennsylvania. James A. Gallagher was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended the public schools and the Pierce Business College in Philadelphia. He was elected to congress as a Republican in 1942. He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1944. He was elected to congress again in 1946. Finally, he was an unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1948.
