Mainstream acting career
Her role in the long-running sitcom Family Matters is best known for being written out of the show without explanation. Subsequent episodes have the Winslows acknowledging only two children. [1] The role of Judy was gradually reduced to make more room for Steve Urkel. In terms of popularity, Urkel quickly eclipsed all others on the show, and eventually many of the earlier performers were written out of the series altogether. Foxworth's character Judy was only the first of several characters to vanish mysteriously from the series with no explanation or mention as Urkel took over the show.
Transition to pornographic films
With very little acting work coming in the years after Family Matters, Foxworth battled alcoholism, depression and destitution prompted in part by a judges' ruling that her trust fund of over $500,000 be used to save her family from bankruptcy. Foxworth later switched briefly to adult films. She didn't start until around age 20 and quit less than two years later, only appearing in handful of actual different scenes. She later claimed that her parents had squandered her trust fund and she had no money to her name. She reasoned that she was talked into pornography as an easy way to make money. [2] Foxworth went to work at the talent agency her mother owns.
