J. K. (Jack) Chambers (born 12 July 1938 in Grimsby, Ontario) is a Canadian linguist, a professor at the University of Toronto who studies, among other things, Canadian English. Chambers was the first to use the name "Canadian raising" for the typically Canadian form of pronunciation. Chambers has also written extensively on jazz, including such figures as Miles Davis and Duke Ellington.
