J.B. Jennings is an American politician. He was first elected to the Maryland House of Delegates in 2002 to represent District 7, which covers both Baltimore County and Harford Counties along with fellow Republicans Rick Impallaria and Pat McDonough.[1]

In 2006, he won again along with Impallaria and McDonough. J.B. married Michelle Slusher Jennings in 2004.

Education

Jennings attended Essex Community College, where he received his A.A. in 1995. He then transferred to the University of Baltimore, where he graduated in 1997 with his B.S. in Business Administration.

Career

Jennings has been a beef farmer since 1992. He also served as a staff assistant for Robert Ehrlich while he was a Congressman. In 1998, he became co-owner and president of a feed store in Hereford, MD. He has served as a member of the Jacksonville Volunteer Fire Company, Station 47 in Jacksonville, MD, which is northeast of Baltimore. Since being elected to the House of Delegates, Jennings has been very active in environmental and agricultural issues. He served on Environmental Matters Committee from 2003-06, the Agriculture Preservation & Open Space subcommittee from 2003-06, the Wetlands & Waterways Funding Work Group in 2004; and the Natural Resources subcommittee in 2006. He was the chair of the Natural Resources work group in 2004, was a member of the Agricultural Stewardship Commission from 2005-06, and has been a member of the Maryland Fire, Rescue and EMS Caucus since 2003. He has also been on the Maryland Rural Caucus and the Maryland Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus since 2003. His efforts were recognized when he was selected as Deputy Minority Whip from 2003-06.
