Island in the Sky was the third episode of the Lost in Space television series. The episode employed footage from the pilot "No Place to Hide" comprising the spectacular crash landing, and first use of the chariot. Most of the episode was new footage. The Jupiter II assumes orbit about a mysterious planet and, after trying to recruit the Robot and Dr. Smith, John leaves the ship to attempt a high-altitude reconnaissance of the planet's surface. When his jets fail to work, Don loses radio contact and decides to land the ship. The ship crashes due to interference by Smith.
