Isaac Maddox, D.D. (1697-1759) was an English cleric and theologian. He was educated at Queens' College, Cambridge, ordained in the Anglican Church and held a number of offices including Prebend of Bury (1730-1743), Dean of Wells (1733-1736), Bishop of St. Asaph. Named Bishop of Worcester in 1743, he held that office until his death in 1759. Dr. Maddox was a member of the Royal Society. Several of his letters and sermons survive, promoting improvement of public hospitals and criticising alcohol abuse. This Dr Isaac Maddox was the son of another Isaac Maddox, who was the brother of Sir Benjamin Maddox, who has his own Wikipedia page.
