The Imperial Bosendorfer

The Imperial is the largest model of pianos that Bosendorfer manufactures at 290 centimeters long.

Extra Keys

The Bosendorfer Imperial features 97 keys; a full eight octaves. The extra keys are colored black so that the pianist can tell the normal keys of a 7 1/4 octave piano. They were originally covered with a panel to prevent from accidentally playing the extra notes. This was then removed and replaced with black matte on the keys.
