Icon Theatre is a non-profit organization set up to present lesser known classical works in an unpretentious manner.[1]
History
- The company was established in 2002 in order to co-produce the British Premiere of The Men's Room by Joshua James.[2]
- All productions to date have been produced by Sally Armstrong, directed by Nancy Hirst and designed by Lucille Acevedo-Jones.[3]
- The company have been awarded an Arts Council grant to develop Ian Miller's The Shingle Dance.[4]
Productions
- Gradgrind, at the Wickham Swan, based on the Dicken's character of the same name.[5]
- The Odyssey, touring. Venues included the Blake Theatre [6] and Customs House in South Shields.|title=Customs House|accessdate=2008-01-04}}</ref>. .[7]
- The Canterbury Tales, touring. Venues included The Swan Theatre [8] and The Arc Theatre in Wiltshire.[9]
- Skeleton Woman, Lady Death, produced as part of The BAC Festival of Visual Theatre in 2002.[10] This was later developed, and performed at the Lion and Unicorn Theatre.[11]
- The Men's Room, performed at Warehouse Theatre in 2002.[12]
