Ian Campbell is a musician, who has performed for example with the 1990'ties band Ice Mc, with an Italian singer Alexia He was born on the 22.03.1965 in Nottingham in the East Midlands of England. His parents are from Jamaica. Ian grew up in the area of Nottingham called Hyson Green. When he was in high school his initials IC quickly got him a nickname ICE (Lately he interpreted it as Ian Campbell Esquire). After leaving school he hung around Nottingham for a couple of years until in 1983 he joined a group of breakdancers and started touring Europe with them. In 1989 in Italy he met Roberto Zanetti - singer, composer (as Savage), and producer (as Robyx). They got together and made a single called "Easy". The record was made in hip-house style. The single was very successful all over Europe, but it was not considered to be Eurodance but in the US, ICE MC's music is considered Eurodance. Later in the early nineties, Roberto Zanetti met Alexia who became the future vocalist of their Eurodance hits. His album Ice'n'Green released in 1994 was extremely successful and the two most successful songs were Think about the Way, and It's a Rainy Day featuring Alexia on vocals. The album still sought after in the States since it when out print because it was not a mainstream success. Other successful songs from the same album include Take away the colour, Russian Roulette, Dark Night Rider, and Run Fa Cover. The album was also released in the US where the two biggest singles saw substantial club play and moderate dance music radio airplay, thus becoming hits. Although the main genre for these songs is Eurodance, it does have a considerable amount of Italian influence. This is prevalent in Dark Night Rider and It's a Rainy Day. But Think about the Way and It's a Rainy Day were so successful that many Eurodance fans still listen to them both in North America and Europe. In 1994, due to some legal issues, ICE MC separated from Roberto Zanetti and Alexia. In 1996, ICE MC struck back with a new album called The Dreadatour which was produced by Masterboy. The hit song of the album was the pure Eurodance song Give me the Light, but the album itself wasn't particularly successful. After this, many thought that Campbell had caused irreparable damage to his career.

2002 to Present

At the end of 2002 he decided to return to Italy and to contact Robyx (Roberto Zanetti) again. Together, they decided to realize a new project. ICE and Robyx started by writing some new material and, at the beginning of 2004, they withdrew into the studio to record a new album. His latest single, released in 2004 (It's a Miracle) was a disaster. Work on another single and on the yet untitled album continues.
