Washington Hoover Airport in 1932

Hoover Field was the first airport for Washington, D.C. which opened in 1926. It was located in Arlington, Virginia, near the intersection of the 14th Street Bridge and the George Washington Parkway where the Pentagon now stands. In 1930 Hoover Field was sold and then merged with the nearby Washington Airport to form Washington-Hoover Airport. Washington Hoover Airport closed in 1941 when Washington National Airport was opened.
