Hero is a manufacturer of fruit products (primarily jams, Fruit juices and cereal-fruit bars), based in Switzerland. Established in 1886 in Lenzburg, in the early 20th century established subsidiaries in Spain, Italy and the Netherlands. Hero’s operations are based predominantly in Europe, North America and Middle East/Africa. In 2006, the group generated revenues of in excess of CHF 1.7 billion with approximately 4,000 employees in more than 30 countries. Dr. Arend Oetker is the majority shareholder.
