Hero was the official film of the 1986 World Cup, held in Mexico. Rather than a simple documentary or collection of highlights, Hero is notable for being a cinematic work complete with a memorable score by Rick Wakeman and narration by Michael Caine. It features sweeping camera work, and innovative editing techniques to fit evocative sound with the multi-angled shots. As such, it was hailed as a cinematic achievement, and was released in cinemas across the world, finding great success, unsurprisingly, in Argentina, being as it is, a tribute to Diego Maradona and his victorious Argentine team. It is now quite a rare VHS, and copies are hard to come by. Some, even rarer copies, do not have the Michael Caine commentary, leaving nothing except a beautiful film of football action and stunning music.
