Heritage Institute of Technology is located in an agro-based environment of Anandapur, Kolkata. It is a private engineering and management education college affiliated to the West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata. The college was established in 2001 by Kalyan Bharti Trust, a conglomerate of like-minded industrialists. Currently it offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech; 6 Departments) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) degrees. The Management Education Centre (Dean: Dr. Bani Sinha) provides Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with various specialisations.

- Eclecia - The annual cultural fest of Heritage Institute of Technology is held every year in March.
- Dakshh - The technology fest of the college celebrated for two days preceding Eclecia.
- Prarambh - The annual fest of Management Education Centre of Heritage Institute of Technology; organised by the MBA students.

The college fest was started by the 1st batch of Heritage Institute of echnology B.Tech batch in 2002 along with the active cooperation of faculty members & it was held in CLT Mahal, Dhakuria, Kolkata. In the second year it was held in Najrul Mancha and it was a success. Many of inter college competitions were held local kolkata rock bands were invited for performances. In the next year i.e Eclecia '04 was a massive hit & its news acame in the leading newspaper & radios of the city drawing huge number of audience. It was inaugurated by Russi Modi. New events like fashion show was introduced & bands like Euphoria were invited for live performance.
