Hayato Tani (谷 隼人 Tani Hayato) (born on September 9, 1946 as Hajime Iwatani) is a Japanese television actor. He played General Tani in Takeshi's Castle. Also played Commander Sugata in the 1987 Super Sentai series, Hikari Sentai Maskman. He was born in Nagasaki, Japan. He married his first wife in 1971 and married his second wife, Kikko Matsuoka in 1981, after they appeared in several television shows together. He is also sometimes credited as Hayati Tani. Tani is 173 cm (5 ft 8 in) tall and weighs 78 kg (12 st/172 pounds). His hobbies include baseball and golf and watching boxing. He is currently writing a dining guide on yahoo.co.jp. In it, amongst other things, Tani discusses his 37 years of gym visits and his healthy eating.
