Harold La Borde was a man from Trinidad who sailed around the world in his boat, the Humming Bird III. First he made Humming Bird I, with which he sailed a ways then sold it and made the Humming Bird II with which he sailed to England and back. After that he sold it and with that money made a new ship, the Humming Bird III, and with his wife and young son traveled around the world to show the Trinidadian flag to all the little islands and big countries who might not know about it. He had another son on the voyage, and sent his wife to New Zealand to take care of him. At long last he made it back where he was greeted by the Trinidadian Prime Minister. Later he went around in the Humming Bird III again, but not for his country.
