Hammarby IF Bandy is a Swedish Bandy club from Södermalm, Stockholm, a section of the sports club Hammarby IF. Hammarby IF currently play in the eliteserien. They are in their 39th season in the Eliteserien. Hammarby have strong links with fellow Stockholm based club GT-76 with many players moving between the clubs. The club is currently in economic problems and a campaign called "Rädda Hammarby Bandy" (save Hammarby Bandy) has been set up. [1] [2] Hammarby IF have been crowned World Champions twice beating Ljusdals BK 7-0 in 1999 and Sandvikens AIK 2-1 in 2001. Hammarby IF have never been Swedish champions but have been runners-up 7 times in the seasons 1956/1957, 1999/2000, 2000/2001, 2002/2003, 2003/2004, 2005/2006 and 2006/2007. They won the Swedish Cup 2007 , there first win, beating Sandviken in the final.
