Guillaume Canet (born April 10, 1973) is a French actor and film director. He was born in Boulogne-Billancourt. He married German actress Diane Kruger on September 1, 2001 whom he had met and started dating in 1999. They have since filed for divorce. He won the César Award for Best Director in 2007 for his film Ne le dis à personne (Tell no one) based upon the novel by Harlan Coben, starring François Cluzet as the leading part. He is mainly known internationally for his performance as Étienne for Danny Boyle's The Beach (2000). Guillaume is also know for his role in the French film Jeux d'enfants — known in English as Love me if you dare (2003)
