Glenn Slater (born 1968) wrote the lyrics to Alan Menken's music for the film Home on the Range and the stage production Sister Act the Musical. Glenn was born in Brooklyn,but raised in East Brunswick,New Jersey. He is working with Menken on the upcoming stage adaptation of Disney's The Little Mermaid as its new lyricist replacing the animated film's lyricist Howard Ashman who passed away in 1991 from AIDS. Slater is a graduate of Harvard University and received the ASCAP Foundation Richard Rodgers New Horizon award with conductor Stephen Weiner in 2000. His residence is located in New York City with his wife Wendy Leigh Wilf and two sons whose names are Benjamin and Daniel.
