Dr Gerard N. Casey (1951) is a member of the School of Philosophy in University College Dublin (Head from 2001-2006). He was active in Irish politics between 1993 and 1999 and founded the pro-life focused Christian Solidarity Party. He is now apolitical with libertarian and (philosophically) anarchistic tendencies. [Casey, Gerard. "Meddling in other men's affairs: the case for Anarchy," Economic Affairs 27 (4), December 2007, pp. 46-51.] As well as being qualified in Philosophy (University College Cork and University of Notre Dame), he also has degrees in Law (University of London and University College Dublin). He appears from time to time on radio and TV on topical social and political issues. His philosophical interests include the Philosophy of Economics, Philosophy of Law and Philosophy of Music.
